Hello and welcome, my name is Rebecca Ishida. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I have dedicated the past 25 years to helping people of all cultures and lifestyles through the taxing issues that often cause stress, sadness, and turmoil in their personal lives.
Each one of us wants our lives and relationships to be fulfilling and happy. Though we can all agree that a certain amount of stress and grief day to day is normal, sometimes our problems can become overwhelming and cause us to lose sight of what’s important in life and we can become complacent, down, and lost. These feelings and the stresses in our lives that cause them can often be helped with psychotherapy.
Marriage and Family Therapy
My approach as a marriage and family therapist is to work with clients using a combination of empathy and confrontation. I provide an honest, open and compassionate environment to confront and deal with your issues. I have experience dealing with a variety of issues such as addictions, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and grief. My goal is to form a solid relationship with my clients wherein they can truly and honestly move toward solid recovery.
I work collaboratively with my clients to meet therapeutic goals that we set together, by being direct and solution-focused. I want the best for my clients and feel honored to share in their feelings, whether they’re suffering through sadness and grief, or celebrating their hopes and dreams.
I graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and from Pepperdine University with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. My experience in the field is varied and I have treated depression, anxiety, grief and loss and relationship issues. I have been licensed since 2000 and am member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists).
